STAR STACKING MACHINE WITH CHANNELLING BOARD
At completion
of cooling biscuits are stacked vertically on their edge by
a Star Stacking Machine for easier handling
The stacking operation requires that the biscuits are
deposited on the star stacking roll in lanes.
The free standing unit has steel plate frames supporting a
conveyor system with its drive and web tensioning and
tracking systems, a declined slide board with guides, and a
star wheel with its own independent drive.
The upstream conveyor deposits the biscuits on the web of
the stacking unit, which in turn drops them on the sliding
board with guides.
At the bottom of the sliding board the biscuits again meet
the web which now conveys the biscuits between fixed guides
and drops them onto the revolving star wheel. At their upper
end the guides are positioned in slots.
CHANNELLING BOARD
Due to course deviations accumulated at the various transfer
points of the cooling system the flow of biscuits may wander
across the infeed conveyor of the stacking unit to the point
where proper alignment with the sliding table is lost.
To solve this problem the guides of the sliding table in
group are made to swivel by a servomotor system around their
lower ends until their upper ends are in alignment with the
incoming flow of biscuits.
Optical sensors installed on both sides of the stacking
conveyor locate the flow of biscuits and send corrective
signals to the servomotor. |
